The Curriculum of the Jamia
In the context of the Jamia's core subject and purpose, the most fundamental aspect is the curriculum of the Islamic Jamia, which determines the religious orientation of the beneficiaries. It differs from one department to the other. The curriculum for Arabic classes includes eighteen different sciences and arts, some of which are advanced sciences that are the key to achieving the objectives, while others are auxiliary ones that support the advanced sciences.
The entire curriculum of the Aalimiyyah course has been divided into six years, taking into consideration the arrangement of arts and books so that all sciences and arts continue to be taught, from the beginning to the end. And the students gradually become familiar with all the sciences at the same time, as is clear from the following curriculum. Presently, Alhamdulillah, the Jamia has a complete system for teaching the course of HadīthSharīf. The complete curriculum is as follows:

Commencement of the Final Year of Aalimiyyah Course
In the beginning of the 15th century AH, a new initiative was taken for the Jamia. The Majlis-e Shura (Jamia'sAdvisory Committee) had made the blessed decision to start classes of the final year of the Aalimiyyah course in the Jamia, in 1387 Hijri. At that time, the educational standard of the Jamia was up to the Fourth Year. After the auspicious decision of the Committee, the fifth-year curriculum was introduced in the Jamia from 1388 Hijri onwards
Following this, with the auspicious beginning of the 15th century Hijri, the final year of Aalimiyyah was commenced in the Jamia, which has been progressing, Alhamdulillah, with tremendous success and is achieving equal acceptance and recognition.
Today, Masha Allah, the popularity of this Hadith class is such that, starting from the 1st of the Shawwal month, a large number of students from across the country start coming for admission in this class. But due to limited space and unavailability of resources, many have to return with heavy hearts. Since 1401 AH, when the Hadith Sharif class was started in the Jamia, the number of the students who obtained the Hadith certificate after graduating from this Hadith class has crossed one thousand.
The first Sheikh-ul-Hadīth of the Jamia was the respected Maulana WajidHussainDeobandi (may Allah have mercy on him), who resigned two years later due to personal reasons. After him, upon the insistence of the Majlis-e-Shura, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad AsgarSaheb (ra) took the position of the Sheikh-ul-Hadīth. He held this esteemed position till his demise on the 12th of RabiulAwwal 1434 Hijri. He served for 32 years continuously. After his death, the revered Maulana Qari Muhammad AashiqIlahiSaheb was selected Sheikh-ul-Hadīth. Since then he has been fulfilling the responsibilities of this prestigious position and discharging his duties with utmost dedication, Alhamdulillah.
The Establishment of the Department of Fatwa
The Darul Ifta (Department of Fatwa) has been functioning in the Jamia for quite some time, wherein the Muftis (expert Islamic jurists) have consistently been fulfilling the responsibility of providing religious and legal guidance to the Muslim community of the region. However, there was a demand from the public and Ulama that a department for Specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence should be established within the Jamia. In view of this requirement, the Majlis-e Shura (Advisory Committee) of the Jamia took the important decision to establish this department in the Jamia in 1433 AH, under the chairmanship of the senior professor Maulana Mufti Muhammad ShahidSaheb. This department has a two-year curriculum, and upon its completion, the students are awarded a formal certification to issue fatwas. Under the supervision of this department, not only the education of fatwa-writing but also the training and practical experience of being a mufti are provided. And, Alhamdulillah, it has been yielding positive results and the fruits of these efforts are becoming visible.
